F/R adjustable slipper?
Hi
This quote from Jeremy on the RCTech forum: "My car had the new parts on it that will be in the Worlds/Japan kit that will be released soon. The new front arms, front bumper, new style slipper that can slip f/r equally or f/r individually, inner ball stud mounts, thinner rear swaybar, new shocks, lowered wing mounts I think is all or most of what will be new/different." Does anyone have info on this Slipper? I saw that they had a Slipper with External adjustment but how does that translate to F/R equal OR F/R individual? It only has one adjustment collar. Is this Slipper another Option? Any good pics or info? Jeff |

Nice idea but it won't work unless the spur gear is fixed and can't move along the axle. If you adjust the two sides to different rates the spur gear will just shift and you will have equal pressure on both sides again, no?
Or am I just missing something in the diagrams? |

The above diagram would work in a fashion.
The plate on the left hand side of the diagram takes pressure from the spur hub. The plate on the right hand side however is pressured against the opposite slipper pad and can only less than or equal to the pressure on the left hand side AT BEST. There is no way of making the "slave" slipper on the right hand side stiffer than the "master" one on the left, once you try and tighten it more than the left the pressure will be shared between the pads and the hub will be out of the picture. So that diagram not truly independently adjustable. For that you would need a double hub of some sort. I suppose a slipper like that would be better with the "slave" setting at the rear, to take the majority of on-power landing impacts, and the potentially tighter "master" setting at the front to maintain drive? |

OK I see now that the spur hub is supposed to be bolted to the spur.
In that case, yes I can see now how it would work. Clever concept. |

If you put the new externally adjustable slipper in the car (worlds edition), there is no way, I suppose, to fit the middle one way, correct?
So we can only use the front one way diff with the new slipper? Also is there any chance to adjust independently the front and rear on throtlle power with this slipper (like a middle diff)? Because what you talk about in this thread is it ever going to be produced? |

As Northy says, the new slipper will slip Frt/Rear independently. One of the outdrive cups on the slipper has a bearing fitted.
You also have the option to lock the front and rear drive cups together and have them slip equally. Difficult to explain, but once you have it in your hand you'll see how it works. |

Complete slipper assembly is part no HB61587. This includes the direct drive centre shaft.
