Cat FAB upgrade
Hi all,
I already have the front one-way layshaft in my SX2, and want to experiment with the FAB system which seems so popular at the moment. However, at £50 its a sizeable enough outlay just to experiment. I think I am right in thinking that the FAB is just a one-way with a slipper clutch type adjustment. So is there anyway I can just upgrade my one-way to make it an FAB - like maybe buying the slipper assembly on its own? Thanks guys Andrew. |

I think it uses the same 1 way pulley... best confirm with part numbers though

Hey BigG, cheers for the fast reply.
U3610 FAB layshaft U3608 FAB PTFE Washers + Shims seems to be the additional components I need totalling £26. Much better than £50. Has anyone else ever done this upgrade before, just to make sure Im doing the right thing. Is the FAB system much better than front one-way? Thanks again! |

You will need the FAB pulley ( U3609 ) for another £26 .
You can`t use the standard one way pulley. And I think the advantage of the FAB above the Fixed or the oneway justifies the price. With a simple turn you can adjust the amount of turn in the car has. Cruise

ah cheers Cruise. I wasn't 100% sure it could be done. I only had the FAB on my cat never the 1way pulley

Much appreciated Cruise.
So it looks like it is worth the investment but the best value is to buy the whole FAB upgrade set rather than individual bits. Thanks for all the help guys! |
