haha
you reminded me to mention how UTTERLY WANK CUSTOM COLOR PAINT IS.

there, ive said it now.

I used createx & faskolor water based paints on this, 7 colours in all. airbrushed.
I simply cant be arsed to do a paint job like this (without the hearts ofcourse) on my own shell, i go better with 1 colour can job... not using custom colour ever again, its toss.

Jimmy.

Hearts, you big softie

Does look well nice though. I reckon you should start painting your shells properly too...

I always use that Custom Colour stuff, I reckon it's the candy colours that are crap. I used a couple on my latest shell and they are so thin you'd need to give it a doven coats. I just back everything with white or silver, then tape over it just in case.

What did you use for the masks jimmy ?

I did them on the computer like you andy, but cut them on the plotter in "cast vinyl" basically its a soft slightly stretchy vinyl, rated outdoors for 10 years!!! so best not to leave it on too long (24 hours it was on).
it gives absolutely perfect lines.

That custom colour NEON orange i used on the ZX5 was the worst paint i have ever used in my life..
It came out like dust, and stuck like teflon.
I should really take the shell into the shop and demand my money back, its that bad.

best can spray ive used is the pactra stuff, it REALLY eats into the shell, nothing will take that stuff off..

I bought a new iwata airbrush tonight, so, might do my own shell in future.. i dont really have the time to be honest but one day i might work up the courage.

I guess it took about 4 hours all together because I had a hard time getting the airbrush to perform, hence my new airbush on the way.
Its a bit darker than it was meant to be, on the body i sprayed the light pink colour first then the dark purple... mistake!

I used Custom colour on a TC shell a while ago. It was abosolute shite, with the exception of one cool feature- you could change colour schemes every few meetings, because all the original paint had fallen off

Awesome paint job Jimbo - not sure the design would suit me but I appreciate the work you put in to it.

I used Custom paints on my shell and it looks ok (in a 1 colour spesh sort of way) - it's not peeled off yet.

State of the art electrics as well......you just spoil that woman

Im sure you can get better suited vinyl, with a bit less "tack", this stuff grips quite well, but as long as you dont leave it on for days it comes off witout much hassle and without any residue.
Its called "cast" vinyl, its just a type of vinyl for long term outdoor use. Any place that sells vinyl will prob have it, but if you cant find any let me know and ill find it or get it when i order somet again.

Good to see Mrs oOple has started racing, car looks very fancy with ‘blue’ alloy bits to boot!

On Sunday I bought a second-hand B4 myself and have started ‘tweaking’ it, never raced 2wd before going to be interesting racing it.

Good luck with the racing Mrs oOple hope you find it fun and enjoy it!

Mrs O's first race and she came away with a trophy - is that natural talent or what?

shhhh dont tell her i said so but she was nearly in booboos (tears) after practice and dint enjoy it at all
but when the racing started and she could just about stop from crashing for a lap she had a lot more fun.

Yay, we all got trophies - me, Vickeh and Jimmeh... go us.

And Vicky rocked, excepted when I was rostrum-babysitting her and she carried on the conversation we'd been having before the race in her head and broke her car... *sigh*

Noooo, I SO wasn't crying!

But yay for me getting a trophy at my first ever race! I might have been 63rd out of 63, but at least I finished 3 out of 5 races. I am proud of myself.
I hope I actually beat someone next time.
