Question Tamiya Mini M06 for a beginner?

I'm a complete beginner, and I think I've decided to go for the mini class for starters. I'm trying to get up and running cheaply to start with, and then I'll progressively upgrade and improve as and when money allows.

I have come across a decent priced second hand M06 chassis, which has improved (blue) parts in as well. But I am a little hesitant, wondering whether a RWD Mini would be too tricky for a novice? M05 feels like the safer option, but I can't find a decent local second hand one. So I can't decide whether to go for the M06.

Beginner advice appreciated.

They run Minis at my local club, M03's are still very popular and competitive, probably cheaper aswell

Depending on what your local clubs run I would suggest a Mardave (or similar) chassis to run in the GT12 class. This class was specifically designed for beginners - cars are cheap and strong, power is limited and racing is close.

If you need more suggestions, please PM me.

Hope this helps,

James
