Bearing in mind Ian Boulter doesnt frequent this site and his limited mobility, will you still want him to position his caravan with the others.

Last year we were lucky enough to be located just behind Brian Harris and his commentating position...

Dont want to cause a problem but just wanted to give him a heads up!

Thanks

Ribs are more consistent but do lack steering especially when the track is hot. Its suprising how much the track changes with temperature. Its quickest, but most twitchy, when its dry and cool.

This year i' will just stick with spikes.......... i think
Hi Kevin,

Did you try dremeled staggers as in kampenhout this year? Or is there even less steering than in kampenhout? When using mini spikes in the front, do they wear quickly or can you run them perfectly when the sharp edge from the spike is gone?

Hoping for dry weather...

bye!

Wouter, you won't need a mini pin front becasue you can only run a minispike in the back it will turn up it's own backside on mini pins. It will be mini spike fronts (trimmed) or stagger ribs for most people assuming it's dry.

did try dremmeled staggers at Kampenhout and have tried them at stotfold in the past. I noticed a difference in Belgium but never really noticed any improvement at Stotfold (it didn't hurt though).

If its wet you'll be running greens and i wouldn't cut anything off. If its dry, i usually find its better without the outside row of spikes. You don't seem to lose any steering it just settles the car down.

Have you made it through the reserve list yet?

Thanks Kevin.

Simon is in for 4WD, he's 1st in 2WD and I'm 2nd :-)

Still more than a week to go and Paul says most people cancel in the last 7 days so that should be ok then :-)

Have alook at Jimmy's report from last year, there a some pictures of the track in there

http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/stotfoldnational2007/

as for advice... depends what track you normally race on? Its very high grip in the dry and very low when wet. Schumacher yellows or greens, and maybe staggers if ou want a calmer 2wd.

Neil Cragg set TQ from Ellis (fastest individual time, only two people to get 13 lappers in qualifying were Ellis and Kev Lee, both X6), Darren Bloomfield Q3, Kev Lee Q4 (X6)

A total of 4 X6's in the A (Ellis, Kevin, Simon Reeves and Johnathan Palmer - 1st A final)

Bllommy won leg 1 with a controlled drive, mistakes from Ellis meant a low finish. Neil won 2nd leg from Ellis who led until half way round the last lap and stuffed it, so came in second.

Leg 3 Ellis (with his favourite gay yellow wing fitted) took the win from Neil, giving them both a 1 and a 2, BRCA rules mean a decider is the fastest winning time, Ellis got it by approx 2 - 3 seconds with the leg three win being the fastest time.
