You mean a 4wd based on the touring car ? Not sure how well that would work, the touring car doesn't seem to have hit the spot, the new one might do better though.

The new JRX-S type R looks interesting....wouldn't take much to develop an off road car from it.

As much as the layout SMACKS of my Tamiya 4wd buggy **snigger** there are some fundamental issue's going on with using the chassis. No kickup at the front for starters, how do you protect the diffs, the suspension hangers are quite far apart to. I think, in all honesty, it would take a lot of work to even make it useable (and yes, I do know they ran something similar at the worlds, and it did what...)

Anyone remember the XXX4, TC chassis with long wishbones..... ahem *cough*

thats not bad, but it only 'looked' like the JRX-s ,it could have been a totally different car, with a simmalar layout, I think they learnt from the XXX-4, dont be cheap, devlop a dedicated buggy

I didnt know the 4wd jrx4 thing had placed so high at the worlds ? not that many people look past the top 10 anyway.
Its been a long time since they made a new off road car..

the drivers running it were top 10 material, and I bet it was far easier to qualify a XX4 than the spares bin special. I think the ontly thing that helped was the shear lack of grip kept it tight, ig there had been more grip and pace, it would of been a far different story.

Maybe the lack of anything development wise ( or apparent lack ) might have prompted the decision that Chris Doughty has made??

I don't know, the JRX4 looked alright to me for something cobbled together, but I doubt we'll see much more of it to be honest.

John price (oscar on here) still has his XXX4 and he likes it, I think he prefers the X5 which is his main 4wd, but he keeps the XXX4 for times like the batley regional when it rained like crazy.
I've driven his XXX4 and I actually thought it was pretty good. But he has spent a fortune on it, there isn't much standard on the thing.

i could say I like it loads but since it's my first 4wd buggy i cant compare it to owt. since i dont race it does for me though. Mr Doughty says they are not that bad too and i guess when it comes to losi he's da man

Losi's car development plans had nothing to do with my choice to leave, they have a healthy roadmap for future cars in all areas.

I just felt the need to have a different brand of car to work on and have a rag around the various tracks, 14 years with the same screws, shocks and 'theme' is quite a long time!

the JRX-4 or Proto-X was almost just a 'test' for the drivetrain for their JRXS-R (the new touring car - compare pictures)

there is still a reason why people run the xxx4 in america, they can also choose xx4 or xxx4, some still prefer the xxx4.

XXX4 was a great car, and still is untill you go to a very bumpy track....
Still have mine as Jimmy said, can't see me selling it.
