Depends how much you want to spend, I use the Viper VTX1 and it's awesome, not the cheapest though as now distributed by CML.

Depends how keen you and your club are I run a hobbywing 1s in my 12th but in my sons GT 12 he has an EZRUN 60a with voltage cut off disabled like many do to keep the budget down and to be honest servo doesn't centre as well as the 1s but seems to perform well if you have enough batteries or charging time to make sure you have fully charged packs

Hobbywing v3.1 is best for the price - really good speedo which is is noticeably better than the others in GT12. Any LRP/Nosram 1S speedo will be top in LMP12 - as the latest one is not 1S compatible, find a used Stock Spec or the Nosram Pearl.

For club racing any of the lower-cost ones will do the job. Core Pace versions are good, the Viper gets good reports and the second hand Hobbywing 120A 1S v2.1 is a great buy if you can find one. Perhaps the most interesting alternative is this...

You'll need the program card with any of these to set them up and with some you need a program downloaded to your PC and a USB connector to set them up for 'blinky' mode (zero timing). HTH
