running Associated front rims on a 22 ?
hi all
just wondering if this is possible? I have lots of B4/B5 front wheels, but going to give a Losi 22 v3 a try, and wondered if it is possible to convert hexes to make this possible? Thanks

No as the offset is totally different and would make the front of the car too wide.

I ran AE fronts for a while, you need the AE axles as well as the the extra depth of the wheel hex causes them to lock up on the spindle hubs, I took the side play/float out by shimming them on the inside maybe .7 can't remember now, it was easier than shortening the axle the bearing spacing is slightly narrower on the 22 3.0. I also shortened the thread back to suit the low profile nut of the losi. But as Tyreman says even shimmed back and with the thread shortened they rubbed on the BRCA box at best you'd say absolute maximum width, ultimately I opted for OEM parts. You'd probably get away with them at a club day but for anything sanctioned you may get pulled, I did think of cutting the inside hex shoulder back maybe 1mm or 0.5 but it got to just being hassle.

thanks guys.
good info I'm not in the UK anymore, so no fear of running afoul of the BRCA for me :-) might just acetone off some of my tires, and buy some losi rims
