it tripped out once during practice and then the rest of the day it was reliable.

£70 for a good leisure battery - granted, but to buy one for just one event is not justifiable for anyone.

Thought it would be better for all to find out before the event rather than waste peoples time and fuel to attend a meeting they wouldn't be able to race at.

I only found out on the night shift last night and I was the club PRO @ the time. So as I was the PRO @ the time I posted the info. Looks as though the info was posted on the club website on 2 weeks ago but no one was informed . Scroll down the home page and you'll see the following.

There must be a wide range of 12V batteries then. I bought mine in 2004 (when I started racing regionals), and its still as good as new. Its a 12V leisure battery, it cost £50 from Halfords. Never topped it up or anything.

I use it for 2 day regionals, no problem.

It's a shame if people don't attend because of this, though I can understand someone not wanting to buy a 12V for one meeting.

Can people not charge from their 1:1 cars?

I agree, power was off and on all day, fair enough it did get more stable towards the end of the day...but was this not due to the amount of people switching to 12V taking the load off the circuits?...I know I went to 12V and saw a number of people around where I was pitted doing exactly the same!

Thanks for the offer but I am attending race of champions in Wembley, so I have a different reason for pulling out unfortunately. Perhaps anyone WITH a 12v and willing to share should speak up now.

I've got at least two leisure batteries if someone wants to use one, also if you know anyone with a caravan go and borrow there's most have them.

No Chris, don't use that as a excuse, just because your lass won't let you go
I have a battery you can borrow, it will defo last a day. For all those cheap skates I'll just tell you where I got it........ At the local recycling centre, just go with a volt meter and pick the one with the highest voltage.

PS
You and Peter missed out, good nights racing at Jarrow.

And a postcode.

A option for those who do not have a 12 volt
Is to buy male plug [ about £ 4.99 from car shops] for your car cig lighter and pick your 12 volt supply from there, you can then charge your batteries inside your car.

Now the best way to make use of Glenn's map is to click his marker for the entrance and get directions from your own postcode, that will give you a route.
