I personally like the SP, but the hobbywing could be the answer to help keep costs down. Apparently they are the exact same at about 2/3 the price.

Really like my Orca VTC, was very happy to be able to run all afternoon on this very hot Sunday without fear of frying anything and no fan. very smooth too with the drive frequency control.

Im glad you commented Tomtom. I have just bought the VTC Pro Mk2 for the B44.1 Im building so was hoping to find someone running an Orca ESC to get their opinions on them.... I take it you are happy with yours then!?

Have a look at the HobbyWing ESCs (link in my sig), UK supported full function ESCs capable of running anything you would want for under £100

I've started playing with the new V3 MOD software ... very smooth, very fast package too and super easy to set up. What more could you possibly want?

Gone for the Orca after reading some good reviews and racers feedback. Will report back!

Developed 'with' Hobbywing...

HW have stated on RCTech that the new HW V3 will not look like the Orion.

You are thinking old Orion - the new speedo is totally different although many Speedos no doubt must have some similar electronics inside.
After driving Big E's car the other day for 10 minutes it's just like heaven.
Smooth and punchy at the same time and just so so easy to drive. - It's like magic when it kicks in half way down the straight - awesome, loved it ........

Nope, he's not thinking that... the R10 is OEM'd by HW. I know this for a fact, as have direct contact with the HW guys out here. However, it is a unique product for Orion (won't be badged by HW or anyone else), although HW will have a v3 version of their own speedo sometime in the (near-ish) future.

It's no bad thing though, HW are proving to be very good at developing ace speedo's

TryHard is right there, was talking to the HobbyWing guys & gals via e-mail last week and confirmed that the R10 is sort of a precursor to the V3 ... has some of the cool features the V3 will have but there is still a bit more in the HobbyWing tank yet!

I'm running the V3 software (well a version that is compatable with current hardware) on my V2.1s at the moment and have been given some information as to what the new hardware can do.
Shall we say that when the V3 is available it will be something special (asuming of course others aren't keeping some funky stuff hidden) and still half the price of it's closest compeetition!

That said the R10 is a damn fine unit with some really good hardware in it.
