Hi Randy, kind of know what the answer is but will ask anyway.Running an RS pro in a trf201 indoor with a 6.5 motor. In race 2 i had a loss of power and got back to the pits and couldnt see an issue, race 3 was all good with power restored.Got back to the pits turned off the car and marshalled.Got back after and turned the speedo on and nothing,no lights, noise anything.
looked around and noted the capacitor looking swelled, with a burned smell around it.I am assuming the capacitor caused the loss of power and went pop taking the speedo with it,question is where if any where is it repairable in the uk?

Thanks,Neil

Could you have the motor wires the wrong way?

Default SC4x 5.5t motor what kind of rpm???

Hi Tekin ppl, I have a question about the Tekin SC4x 5.5t Motor, I am running one off a RX8 speedo in a SC10 4x4, I was using the standard spur gear as per with the kit (32DP) and on a 14t pinion, the car seemed very slow.....

So I have a LRP pulse touch, and will hook it up later to check the RPM, but i recon the motor is running slow....

Can anyone advise me on what kind of RPM I should be seeing unloaded and flat out on these motors????

Any assistance would be really good...

Cheers

Alex

Chances are the sensors aren't working properly. Where is the motor timed?

I've just bought a Tekin RS and 8.5 motor to go in my SC10 2wd. For the first session i ran 18/84 and while it had a load of punch, it lacked some top end (well, it seemed to). Is the gearing out, or should i adjust some settings on the Hotlink to get some more top end?

The RS setting are out of the box at the moment. I'm also guessing i should download the latest software?

Thanks

That seems quite undergeared, start with a 21/22t and maybe even go higher. Yes, download the latest firmware too

I thought it sounded a bit under geared too. But, i was going off one of the Tekin set ups from their site:

http://teamtekin.com/hotwire/ESCsetu...2_8.5_v212.pdf

After 5 min the motor temp was 110 and the esc about 95 degrees F.

So, i might try a 20t pinion. Thanks

I would still go higher than the 20t. That setup sheet is showing that it was running 95% advance so that maybe why a low pinion was been run.

Esc setup changes gearing a few pinions. So where was your set?

Get the latest firmware downloaded, upgrade your speedo and let us know your settings, we'll get your truck flying

Agreed, you're missing a lot of power simply because of the default settings which of course are quite low.
