Default Elliott Boots takes Pendle 8th National

Elliott Boots took the sixth round of the 2010 BRCA 1/8th National Championships this weekend at Pendle, North West UK.

Qualifying honours were shared in equal measure between Elliott, Neil Cragg and local hero and many-time national champion Dave Crompton - all on equal points after the qualifying was over. Dave Crompton took the overall TQ with his faster times, with Elliott second and Cragg third on the grid.

The 30 minute final was owned by Elliott Boots - who took the lead on lap two and didn't look back, building a quick lead and extending it. Crompton, Cragg and Bloomfield battled for second for a long time, swapping positions.

Coming up to the end of the race and as fuel stops began to play their part - Dave Cromptons 2-stop strategy had paid off big time and he was right on the bumper of Elliotts car. Elliott made a mistake and Crompton crossed the line to start his last lap - only Elliott made it through for the lap so it was down to these to and a fight for the line.
Crompton had timed his fuel strategy nearly perfectly - but coming over the triple after the main straight his car finally ran out of fuel and Elliott sailed back past his Mugen team mate for the win.

Congratulations to Elliott Boots on his win.

Excellent report Jimmy & Stu very good indeed

And top pics given the dull light, I actually think it gives them a moody richness

It was a very enjoyable day and my best national result to boot, it made rotovating and shoveling about 3ton of dirt on the saturday to make the section after the tripple runable worth while.

Shame I was taken out by anothers crazy stupid driving on my last lap of rd3 or I may have had a place in the B final ...

I struggle to take my eyes of that avatar Jimmy, its ace

Have you had extensions Jimmy or you been secretly growing that red stuff for a while?

Good on Stu Mahon guessing he'll be moving on from Clubman status shortly

Haha yea last time I had it cut was on Australia November 2008!! I know it looks stupid but that's ok lol

Hope we can make it to some more 8th events - everyone was very helpful, more than I'd expected for sure.

Your unbiased detailed and funny review is just what the national series needs imo.
