fixed mine last night, and when i put the pivot block back on i cut them in half so got rid of the straight bit in the middle, put longer screws through with nuts on top.

had to take material of the brass tpiece when i first did it, took the minimal amount of the new chassis, just enough to make the wishbones drop under there own weight.

So does this gearbox fit the CR2 with either rear end?

I got my tranny case yesterday and installed it before going to racing. I found it made the car work better, even qualifying in the A, the first time in a while, and I don't think we where missing any of the regular contenders. It probably also helped that its the first time with the 9100hvs servo, a tekin rs esc and a new tuned motor with power to spare, but the car worked very well. It worked out for me but kinda sucks that our track just gets worse and worse throughout the night so no one uped there time after the first round, so my first run put me in 8th and stayed there until the mains. I did pretty bad in the main and finished 8th a second behind 7th due to a last lap mistake.

I think this tranny is a worth while upgrade for the PSI LMX that I run over the counter gear set up and would definitly be an improuvement over a 3 gear set up.

In a word.... Yes

I first thought that the front of the gearbox (as it sits in the car) would have to be filed down to let it sit over the 'T' peice but it doesn't, which leaves the bottom of the case sitting above the chassis a touch. If I did file it down, the motorplate would foul the T peice & it would lower the shock mount, all by the same amount. The only adjustment I needed to do was trim the tower a 'smidge' for the gearbox to slide cleanly into it (where the long bolt goes through) & i'm going to have to shave off 1mm or so off the motorplate mounting face, to get the gearbox screws to reach/avoid fouling of the slipper plate & to get the brass angle to line up with the fixing hole in the chassis.

My gearbox is one of the first made so i'm guessing some alterations have been made? The last two alterations would have to be done in order to fit it into either the AC or PSI cars, so seem like teething problems from the first batch. Once these are addressed it would be a direct fit into a CR2

Edited to add pics;

40wt shock oil is what I settled on.
Tried 10,000cP - 3000cP - 70wt - 50wt and then finally 40wt.

Think PSI got sold on from the original maker/owner and the new owner has been a bit lax on keeping up with maintaining the PSI car and gearboxes.

Nick on here does (in my opinion) a good std ball diff 4 gear box, but I don't know if he can also do a gear diff option...

Dr is right, had the previous owner known this would happen I could of been making them, but since the new owner said he'd be continuing the current cars (and maybe developing new ones) all the IP went to him otherwise it would be saved on me computer...

Nope, the new owner has kinda disappeared, making rare appearences then disapearing again. Last I heard if someone wanted to be a PSI dealer, he'd make the kits with a minimum order quantity of 10, and a 20 MOQ on the tranny cases. I thought about it but with the major lack of comunication, I wasn't going to put up $1000+ in case I can't comunicate with him at all.
