Default Sky toro esc/program box issues

Anyone else running these? I can't get the program box to connect to the esc. I've calibrated the radio and now want to program the esc via box but it keeps saying connection failure.
I've connected it as per manual; servo lead connecting box to the 3 pins on side of speedo, Esc plugged into receiver and radio on.
When I power up it show the scrolling menu but when I select esc settings it says connection failure. Also I can't see anywhere in manual about programming without box, is this correct?

Check that both the esc and programme box have the latest software in them. I had the same issue with my gforce esc and box (very very similar to the toro) and the box needed updating.

The box says v1.07 which I think has been superseded by 2.07. How do I update then? I didn't get a USB lead with the esc or program box and I don't run a PC as I have a Mac!
I'm a little peed if I find that I can't program it as I checked with lhs that it would work!

Yep sounds like your programme box needs updating. Any micro usb cable will do, I use my phone charger one. If you go onto the sky rc website, then you will be able to download the pc software. I know you can definitely get it for Windows, not sure about Mac. But it's worth a try.

Can't you run a Windows emulator on Mac?

I know I can on Ubuntu.

Failing that I'll take it back and get them to update firmware in shop on their pc so I can at least program the damn thing....!
