Cougar kf jumping help

Hi all. I am having a bit of trouble getting my kf over the jumps at my local track. It always lifts its front end in the air to the point where the car is pretty much vertical in the air. I know I can blip the throttle and correct it but it's quite extreme and I would like to dial it out if I could. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Blipping the throttle will lift the nose higher

Try and raise the rear ride height slightly or add weight to the front

Are you running a full wing gurney - if so trim it 5mm at a time and see if it improves.

Adey try just nip the brake, or go neutral as you take off, my TRF jumps like a beast this way, always landing flat or just a tad nose in, its about the only thing i can do quite well, jumping lol!

My mistake. I meant blip the brake to bring it down. Also anyone have any idea how I should gear a 10.5 in it ?.

Are you running the kit spur? Where are you racing?

Indoor on carpet. Kit spur with a 26t pinion. The track has a reasonable straight but it tight on the infield.

Never heard of a KF jumping odd, I take it you are not hard on the gas whilst in the air etc..

Pinion sounds ok to me...

Whats your setup? Are you running really thin front shock oil?

Maybe a very low ride height also. It does sound like the nose is smashing into the face of the jump causing the nose to be forced into the air. Front spring too soft can also cause same issues. Just something to think about.

Its quite soft tbh. 17mm ride height all round. And no I don't hit the jumps flat out. It's very odd. The car is jumping and the front end lifts so much the car is near vertical. It's a new car too me and it's set up as I had it. I suppose I should download a setup for the car.

I suspect your hitting the jump wrong, either too fast, too much throttle etc, id not personally concentrate my set up on how the car jumps on big jumps

Making the shocks more vertical will help too. 17mm sounds too low to me, try a touch higher..

I have found for me that the jumping the car can be affected by a number of things but the main part is the suspension if the front is to soft when you hit the jump the front will compress making the nose of the car hit the ramp and bounce up into the air and as you are accelerating up the jump makes the back want to out accelerate the front making the car go nose high. having the suspension to hard can also cause this as the shocks carnt react to absorb jump and packing up ( no or not enough movement in the suspension )

this can be solved by going up or down 5wt to 10wt in oil what you are currently or even a spring rate I have found that ae red 3.9, kit 4.0 or losi black 4.5 springs on losi 37.5 to 42.5 has the best feel for me with outer hole on flipped wishbones and centre on shock tower.

I'd say your probably too low (hitting the chassis on take off), try 19mm. If thats not the problem you might just have too much throttle when you take off.

Are you using drag brake?
