It's a shame that we can't persuade Fibrelyte to do a group-buy on the tub chassis. I think we'd all put down if the price was right, I certainly would and I don't even have a ZXR at present lol.

Welshy, is the tub chassis the same weight distribution as the mk2 or was it different layout (ie short motor plate/long top deck or like the zx/zxrmk1)?

I contacted Stephen Walton at fiberlyte, he said he had a few requests recently about the tub chassis. He doesn't know where the mold is but I'm sure if enough people show interest he'll make the efort to find it.

The Mk1 is the Lazer zx chassis and that had the longer top deck, and in my opinion the better layout. The Mk2 wasn't as good on really high grip surfaces as the weight balance wasnt as good.

I will have a chat with my main man Stephen at Fibrelyte and see if he can locate my original design. I hope he can find it as it was a work of art and I did alter the weight distribution slightly and bettered the handling of the car. I will buy it if he can find it.

For you guys though the best is the solid uncut chassis tub for your Lipos.

The parts have now startet coming inn, for the rebuild of my Lazer.
I think i will order the shock towers from fibre lyte and have them in spare as for now the originals would have to do.

Anny tips on tires for indoor carpet racing? for now i will be running my old motor setup. brushed 12-2T and the Sanwa vortex.. just to keep it like it was back in the day.. except the 6000mA li-po sadlepack. Its not many strights on the indoor track so i think it will do for now..

I am still trying to find some LA-26 but havent had any luck yet. only in US and the dont want to ship out to europe.

LA-26 can be hard to combay these days

The way i see it is that

1. You can look at ebay and see if they pop up and hope they will be rather ok in price.

2. Or you can order them machined from www.dynotech.com i have done that looks awsome and are super nice.

mvh Isobarik

ps they look like this

Indoor setups are a bit vaigue at the moment due to lipos and 225 grams weight loss. However ive got the low down on a starting point. Im going to find my info then post it. I would recommend using associated ball joints all over as this makes maintaining and set up so much easier.

12 turn motor brushed i would go 22 or 23 pinion with the standard 100t spur. What shocks are on your buggy? Do you have the longer ujs and use the inner castor block hole? Do you have a 7 degree castor block?

At the moment i only have a complete sett og the original LA27 with only one hole..

i only have one of the block with 2 holes...

I have 20-23 pinion.

I use the original Kyosho "gold" shocks. i have soft medium and hard springs for them. but i am thinking of changing them to something better. any recomandations? Team asso? Do you have the asso ball joints part number?

I got my belts from toughracing.com yesterday and they look great..
Hope they dont snap....

Those shocks are fine. Replace the seals with either blue mip or if you can find them blue traxxas. Id use two holes in the front and one in the rear for out doors and vice versa indoors. Id try silver front and green rear associated springs. 40 front, 30 rear as a starting point.

I used traxxas trx1 shocks with 2 holes in the front with 60wt and schumacher yellow springs and 3 holes in the rear with 40wt and schumacher white, car almost flat to the deck with zero shock spacing inside with wishbone holes on the furthest outwards, inner hole on castor block with longer ujs. On carpet this kept me in the top 12 in the uk for seven or so years.

Thanks! it seems a good starting point for some personal adjustments.
I realy like this thread, good respons and great info!!

I was at my new local Kyosho shop (just startet) just for kicks i ask if he could check some things for me..

LA-26 he told would take 2 weeks........ and the cost was 95,-Nok about 9pound or euro.. I ordered 2 sets (just to check if they can get them) and shipping costs..

But what surprised me was that Kyosho Norway had 10+++ of LA-30 In stock...
i orderd 4 sets just in case... nice to have in spare

so i am gonna bring the part list and check what is available...

best place for knowledge is the thread below. Most of my knowledge is on here and i've included all my redevelopment as well. I do check the site once a month but tend to be on line here more often. Read through as every page is worth a look and be patient as there are a lot of pages but you will find a lot of good info that will help you out.

Sorry Dude, forgot to write to you. I would advise putting in my Lipo Tray (ive made one in two separate parts via fibrelyte) if you cant get the B44 brass one to fit.

I would advise on a softer setting unless you can balance the car better with more weight - you need roughly one hundred grams on each side of the car under the cells to get it exact to the Nicad/nimh cells weight.

Servo may need to be moved inboard (if its not the ZXRS chassis) a bit more and pics and info is on radio control zone on this mod. It also aids the balancing. I would also advise on the ZX steering plate as this stopped bump steer totally and made a big difference on cornering at speed on all surfaces.

Hope this helps, just ask if there is anything else.

I did something today...

disassembled the hole acr and cleaned all the parts, including diffs and put inn with new "jamin`s" diff grease... just have to wait for the new ball bearings before i can adjust them...
ordered inn a sett of rubber sealed for the ZX-S as far as i could tell they should be the same size..

a few pictures...

Cleaned and ready for assembly

Maybe i should start my own rebuild thread... instead of here..
