X4 TE Shock Shaft issue
During an evening racing I broke a front shock shaft on my X4 Pro TE and replaced it with one from the 'standard' X4/Blizzard. I'd bought this as it was all that was available - no-one seems to stock the TE coated version.
After just one race (the last of the evening) I seem to have suffered a total loss of oil in that shock! On closer examination, it looks like the shaft is marginally too narrow, as there's some 'slop' and lateral movement as it exits the bottom of the shock. Has anyone had this problem? It would be good to hear from anyone (still) running a TE! I bought the standard shaft from a dealer who told me is it a straight fit and that would make sense but it certainly seems to have been the reason for my oil loss. |

On the X4Te you have big bore and X4 blizzard have small bore.
They look like similar but not.

The o-rings are the same between shocks and the shock bottoms are the same. They can't be different surley?

the big bores can leak at the bottom if not sealed right. Have you doubled up the o-rings on the bottom shock cap as shown in the build tips thread?
If not put a little ptfe tape around the threads to help seal it. It can dump out pretty quite if it hasn't made a good seal.

I've been running the car since January and have always found them a little leaky. I've not doubled up the O rings but will get hold of some extra ones asap. I've been using PTFE tape until now. I think my mega leak was caused by not tightening the bottom cap enough on race night. Doh...
