Not to be a smart arse but don't smear it about or use activator.
Use a pipet that sometimes follow with the glue

don't wet it or use activator and it wont go white

Yep +1 Sparing use of the activator will stop the aggressive reaction. A waft is all that should be needed. More than that and you're using too much cyano.
