Default X6 with new Losi small lipo

Just bought the new small Losi lipo and found it's a perfect fit down the middle of the X6 chassis, only need to dremel one part of the chassis. Looks like it will be a perfect fit then

Sorted it, seems like a really snug fit, not too sure about the battery bar, but the lipo seems to be held in nice and firm. Haven't run it yet, so might end up taking some weight out, specifically the side pods.

Looks good!

Have you run it this way yet? How does it compare?

Only fitted it today, hopefully give it a run at the weekend. I can still use a normal size lipo across the chassis so I can try both options back to back.

It's a perfect fit, just needed a slither of high density foam at one end to make the fit super snug.

that looks interesting, but how much lighter is it than a std lipo?

Are we moving in the direction of lighter cars, or is it the real estate and the idea of collecting the weigt as close to the center line as possible that is the driving force here?

I bought the lipo as I'm getting a Losi 22 when it's released and I know it's a squeeze to get everything in, hence the new smaller lipo. Just fancied seeing how it fitted the X6 and it works a treat

As for the X6, personally I've always found it runs best when up to weight, Im going to give it a run like this, with the extra brass under the whole length of the lipo as opposed to just under the centre plate that I ran before under the speedo. I'm expecting it to better like this, simply because all the weight will be to the centre.

Maybe too much weight forward? Might move electronics back like the cougar layout.

You might want to try a #1224 battery strap for cells. It was designed to hold four cells in the rear and two in the front compartment. Goes right on the standard mounting posts and looks like it would hold the small LiPo perfectly. Should be available at your LHS in U.K.

I think that running the little pack (Paul has them) across the back would be best. All the advantages of the rear pack without the weight on the side.

looks like as I dreamed it

memory:

I will make the battstrap something like the Vega V shape strap is, just to use the aerial holes with 2 threaded columns as front fix points, the rear will stay as normal.

thats it

I tried it in my X6 at a small meeting. (haven't had chance to race much recently)
I found the car a lot more nimble, however I was running a lot less weight too... I think it was an improvement, but like I say haven't really tried it that much.
