New to mardaves... I'm puzzled!
Hi Guys.
I've just bought my son a second hand V12 mardave. It came with most of the gear, I've just fitted a receiver and bound his hand set to it... We haven't raced it yet however we have had a mess about in the house. I've noticed that it pushes on slightly on left hand turns and over-steers a lot on right hand turns? Steering is set the same both ways, Ive tried swapping the tyres left to right, there is no binding on either of the front wheels, the chassis is straight and all spring settings are equal. Everything seems to be in order. Is this just a mardave thing? |

When you say all the springs are equal, the rear pod springs should be set differently to offset the weight of the motor.
The best method is to place the car on a flat surface with the front of the chassis overhanging (preferably a table edge) and push up the front of the car from the centre of the chassis. Which ever front wheel lifts first adjust the rear m3 nuts to stiffen/soften the tension on the pod springs until both front wheels lift off the table simultaneously. The car will handle differently due to the different cornering forces applied to the front tyres due to the unbalanced chassis loading. The rear pod springs are the ONLY adjustment on a mardave V12 apart from caster settings with washers...but thats another story hope this helps Si
