VRC vs VRC Pro....what's the difference?
So, as title suggests...
Went on to look at VRC-Pro, thinking yay, new game that might eventually have offroad rc racing in it!!! Then noticed the price....and that there doesn't appear to be a way to just pay once for the game, and play it whenever you like, or whenever you've got the time? So now I'm wondering what the relationship is between VRC and VRC-Pro...if there is one? Are they the same game, just that the Pro is an extension to the original, or are they separate things? If they are separate things, and the only way to play the Pro version is to subscribe...then I've clearly missed something....since when can't I just pay a reasonable/normal price for a game...once...and play it whenever I like? Online or otherwise...like I have been doing for years? Pants if it's subscription or nothing...No way are they having £100+ per year out of me for computer game! Or am I getting old and out of touch?

I have VRC and I was eagerly awaiting the new pro version for the off road stuff.. No way am I paying those prices either. I appreciate that a lot of hard work must go in to these games, but I wont be paying a monthly fee, if it was a one off then i would go for it.

VRC had been around for a few years and whilst the game is free, you pay for extra tracks as you want them and it's a one off charge.
VRC Pro is apparently a brand new version of the game and they want loadsamoney for it. It'll be your only option for off road as VRC won't be developed any further now |

If it's a decent enough game, then it'll be worth it, just like World of Warcraft, Star Wars Galaxies (but not Star Trek online unfortunately).
It's a tenner a month, and that's a lot less than we pay in race fees and spares each week, and we actually get to test car setups. I'd be annoyed if the development pretty much stopped, as most of the available tracks, are already available in the standard VRC. |

VRC development won't happen, VRC Pro will be developed

I meant if they don't keep developing VRC Pro.

But those games are lifestyles for people...and they charge by the month too do they? I've got no idea about them to be honest...I've never played them, but I bet all the devoted Warcraft users are making someone disproportionately rich! Oh well...sucked in
But anyway, we all pay enough and spend enough time on a monthly basis on doing rc for real...why do we need to add that to the list of outgoings and distractions? It's a computer game....and one that I personally might only play on odd occasions in place of the real thing which is undoubtedly better! In my head computer games are a one time purchase that you can pick and put down at will, and 99.9% are just that, and I don't mind paying for gaming like that! I don't mind paying for extra content either at the right price...but that pricing structure just seems like silly money to me...I guess we'll see...but I bet they don't get the user base the old version has. We're all pretty sensible cost sensitive people in RC on the whole and my guess would be most people seeing through the new pricing and sticking with the old version...I can't imagine the Pro version is £100 per year better

+1 for the old version, don't care how good the new one is I won't subscribe! One off fee, yes but subscription, not a chance

I subscribe to VRC Pro. As a practice tool it's amazing. I know people don't believe in paying a subscription, but if you pay for say 6 months at once it's only 45 euros which is about £38, so it only works out at roughly £6 a month.
12th scales have been added recently and i can't wait for off-road |
