As a result of the winter series Benfield buggy club have been asked to put on a display day at Wallsend parks Wacky Races day event Saturday - 16th August 10am -4pm ish

We are looking for drivers to support Benfield Buggy Club and come along and Help put on a display of 1/10 2wd buggy racing, and allow the public to see and participate in a days racing. as the event is family focused, I would like to encourage the future superstars to come along and show off your racing skills And hopefully entice new members in to the regions clubs, We feel this could be great media exposure for the sport and local clubs.

We are hoping to run (at a gentle pace) 3-4 heats of club drivers and a heat open to the public to encourage them to participate and experience the fantastic sport / hobbie we all enjoy.

There are many different events running through the day build a bogy, electric cart, wheel barrow racing and even a duck race. However I have managed to position the radio controlled buggy display as the centre peace of the park. On a bowling green (yes a bowling green) this will be partially covered with carpet so the old dears of the bowling club don’t complain about us ripping up there turf .LOL.

we have already received a lot of interest from drivers and If you are interested in helping support the event and wish to attend please let us know asap, places are limited to around 25-30 drivers. With this in mind Benfield club members and junior drivers will get priority , due to the limited parking around the park anyone that is willing to carshare please let us know, please contact us to confirm your attendance.

there is a café on site and we will have 240 electricity power

Great days racing at the park lots of fun, kids were happy all day, grass on the bowling green was lush, home for fish n chips n mushy peas, my job is done.

I agree with you Jason , excellent relaxing day of racing apart from the watered down tyre glue Mel told us all about it LOL. Would like to thank Dave for the loan of the charger (d`oh! left mine at home) Cheers bud.
A very big thank you to every body involved. Paul for organising the event, also a big thanks to everyone who turned up to race putting on a great show. If I have forgot anybody I am so sorry but thanks again for a brilliant day.

Dont know if anyone got any but would like to see some if they did !

It actually held up well with 2wd no major damage at all, its spongy, matted and probably one of the nicest surfaces i have drove on so far.

The club would like to thank the 20 drivers who attended and supported us to put on the display day, it was a great way to reach out the general public and make them aware of the sport and the local clubs which run in the northeast.

During and following the event I have received a lot of interest from potential new participant's.
