Yes
It was done from scratch, for the chassis
I changed it a few times the last change was to make the cab more upright which I think helps with the looks

Looks promising, side shot of the shell looks a bit Vega'esque.

Look forward to the competetive pricing compared to the other chassis/conversions out there

Do you know how much it weighs in relation to the plastic it replaces ? Also is there any space allowance to run slightly taller saddles ?

The RRP for the kit will be £175. The kit will come with everything you need to fit it to the car - so all screws, posts, washers, fixings, shell, undertray, etc.

As for the lips - the battery strap posts are 25mm high, so the kit should accept pretty much every pack on the BRCA list.

My car ready to run (with the prototype chassis) was 1604g but I have all the alloy bits and lots of bling

In the process of putting the pre production one together to run next week

I've run mine a few weeks now and it really is an improvement on the standard car, more stable and less understeer under power, it really is a nice car to drive now.

The plastic chassis (including front and rear t-pieces) comes in at 145.4g, the aluminium chassis is 183.1g.

I noticed both cars have the low profile servo, I run a x2c but with a normal sized servo, will i still be able to fit my electrics in without buying new stuff? Also i notice the battery brace is in a different place to the x2c and the posts take up some room which could be used for electrics.

However it is nice to see someone working with ansmann stuff

Depending on your electrics you should be able to get away with a std size servo, although it may be a tight squeeze, the battery post layout is like that so it allows for the lipo in std position or turned sideways so they come further down the chassis, the more forward position gives you a little more front end but the car doesn't need anymore.

Im considering building another AKX2 with the lipo in the other configuration so i have the option of the 2 layouts,
