Default Cougar Transmission Problem?

hi im just trying to rebuild a used cougar i bought..

im having problems with the transmission it isnt 100% when 360 i can feel slight catching

its a new layshaft and idler gear?

could it be bearing? ive tried swapping them around but its the same?

or is this just how it is lol?

There is a tight spot,which will free up after a few runs.

it may be the trans cast itself. Looking at the case looks to be an older one with three screws holding it together the new one has four holding it together. just screw the case halves to gether slowly while rotaing the gears when it feels where no binding or high spots snug everything down then you should be good to go

ive taken my time screwing it all back still seems to be dragging..

i'll give it a run and see how it goes.. thanks for reply's
