Default Serpent S500

RedRC.net have a CAD drawing of the new Serpent S500 on their site - the car should be shown later in the week at Nuremberg ToyFair in a pre-production state, but this is a first look at Serpents first 10th scale electric off roader.

From Redrc.net:
Serpent S500
The first product to be produced following the collaboration of Serpent and Durango designer Gerd Strenge. While keeping the spirit of the original project, the S500 is all new and has been designed from the ground up by our team of designers. The main features of the new car are its rear mounted batteries, central shaft drive, motor mounted front of center, ultra narrow chassis and easy access front and rear differentials. This car has already proven itself in its prototype phase, with the only 2 cars at last years World Championship in Japan making it into the main final.

Some oOple observations - There appear to be rubber 'boots' around the drive shafts exiting the out drives, could be a nice touch for long life of the components. The car appears to have XX4 style wheel mounting, and XX4 style front knuckles (much like many current 4WD buggies).
The ultra narrow chassis is an obvious one - but the shell appears to bulge out toward the front - possibly a nod toward the mass market, giving more room for electrics and standard size servos.

LOL cool cool franki

i was like " Hummm this guy likes to plug these predators alot " lol

i agree loads of up and coming new speed machine potentials, or more options for Footey ! lol. loving the look of this S500 soo far, are we going to start seeing more repeats of the durango, Aero and now Serpant cars or basically all the slimmer, toughter, narrow cars as a new wining platform for a top race car ?

we had the J-Concepts winning platform being processed and a good few cars out at that are on the same base/ layout....

the S4 is the sex id just like to add

Another awsome small detail is if you look in the magnified photo where the untightened bulkhead you can see the left front shock has a boot on the shock shaft as well. That could mean just like the 1/8 scale shocks 1/10 could also have a nice way to keep dirt out of the shocks and keep the shocks going longer between rebuilds.

This car is going to be good. If I were Aero, I'd be a mite worried about this, unless there's a decent Aero price advantage.

Am I right in thinking Schumacher have their new ride in display any day now? Good God - how many decent 4wd rides available now? 10?

Why would Aero be worried ????

British Champion... and a proven car, surely most of the other cars should worry... Slim is the way forward.

The S500 does look nice!!
