Organise my life pls!
Nobody ever told me that getting into RC would create such huge pressure for storage!
RC stuff is now in almost every room in the house and needless to say the lovely lady not too impressed! I think as a starter i need some of those transparent plastic boxes with dividers in that i can stick all small bits into and then stack in a discreet corner in the garage at some point ill get a polybutler because they look the danglies any thoughts on neat storage ideas or tips for where i can get those plastic boxes! cheers

Ebay, Homebase, Halfords, places like that you will find most off what you need
Rc Racing can take over your life so unless you got a spare room to turn into a workshop then the wife better get used to it After 28 years racing i have only just got all my rc stiff into 1 room!!!

Staples do the 'Really Useful Plastic Boxes' which are stackable, I don't think they do one with dividers though ? Can probably find them cheaper on the net though...

Do they do 1/8th scale shipping containers?
Then again maybe a 1/5th or 1/4 scale maybe a better option for my kit

I have the same problem, One solution i did was to go and get a secondhand 4 draw filing cabinet and stick it in the garage . Stores all my excess power tool, Nitro fuel , paints, tires ,etc . Did still need two haulers and poly for transporting to the track but without the cabinet i would be swimming in R/C stuff.

Rymans or Staples do a good range in the Really Useful Boxes. Some include dividers, which are... er... really useful.
Get yourself some resealable plastic bags and a marker pen too. Then sell, give away or chuck out everything you don't need... feng shui your house, man |

No Wife or girlfriend to sort me out, but I still hate having stuff everywhere, so everything lives in one half of the built in wardrobe in the (unused) second bedroom... having said that, only ever take my hauler, car, tranny bag (yes, I said it!!) and box of tyres to the track, don't need anything else.
Also use the dining room table for all my maintence... permantly has a tamiya pit towel on it, and at the moment a .28 Savage, my 417, and a 6ch Heli in bits. The spare car and FF03 sit on top of the fridge... One bit of advice though, some of the big carboard boxes kits come (FF03 one is ace!) in can be great for transporting kit to the track. I use small Edit organisor boxes in-side these these for all the little bits! works a treat, and just fits in my Tamiya hauler fine. HiH Ed |
