Default Brass Weights / Circuit Cars

Anyone seen any brass weights about for these cars to help bring them upto weight for the national series?

An under LiPo one would be nice that used the same screw pick up points as per kit

Does work quiet well, got one on mine, bit tricky drilling and tapping the three holes though, also keeps the centre of gravity low.

Default Brass Weighted Lipo Tray to fit V12 etc

Just finished machining these first ones. Tray is 6mm thick Delrin will hold 1S lipo upto 93.2mm long and upto 47mm wide. I looked around at the 1S Lipo cells currently available and they all seemed to fit within these dimensions. Brass weight sits underneath and when used with delrin tray have a combined weight of 80.1 grams to bring you back up to legal weight limit. I've been using one similar without the weight for my Nimh cells. As you can see by the pics, this will hold either Nimh or LiPo. Comes with double sided velcro to secure cell or cells in place. If you would like a set machining, please pm me
£16 plus postage. I've put this post in the for sale section aswell
cheers, paul

neat

why did you not use the standard three hole mount?

if there was a three hole option I could be inclined to purchase one or two

Keep an eye on your cell heatshrink, tends to wear through, and with copper underneath it will conduct. Simple solution is check cells heatshrink, and couple of layers of gaffa tape on weight to be sure.

The weight is removed for Nimh cells, that pic is just to show the fit, The weight is used for Lipo cells, but you're right, should check heatshrink reguarly anyway.

if you want small weights to attach at any points on a chassis, have a look at small round lead fishiing weights, they take a self tapper very well

Default 3 Hole Weighted Lipo Cage V2.0

Hi All,
After alot of tweaking and testing i have finalised the design for the weighted Lipo cage.
The new V2.0 version fits the 3 hole mardave chassis. It no longer requires M3 lock nuts as M3 screws lock straight into the cage which gives more clearance at the front and back. The cage is 6mm thick and will hold 1S lipo upto 93.2mm long and upto 47mm wide. The brass ballast weight sits underneath and when used with cage have a combined weight of 87 grams (+/- 1 gram due to material variations) to bring you back up to legal weight limit. This will hold either 4 cell Nimh or 1S LiPo. Comes with double sided velcro to secure cell or cells in place.
Due to this version being quicker to manufacture i have dropped the price to £15 plus £2.50 postage and packing First Class Recorded to UK mainland. For postage prices to other destinations please drop me a pm. I will not be making the original 4 hole version any more, only this 3 hole V2.0 version.
If you would like a set machining, please pm me
cheers, paul

Nice job Paul. Waiting on new car before I buy though.

In the meantime what about a tray & weight to suit on half of a saddle pack? Might tempt more into Mardave's without having to buy 12th 1s LiPo.

Sizes here for saddle packs
http://brca.org/sites/default/files/...20v1%20pdf.pdf

from the EB
Quote:
Saddle-Pack cells must have a combined length dimension of 139.0mm max. when placed end to end.
so max length of a single should be no more than 69.5mm
