Default Couger diff replacement parts

Had to replace the diff as it was showing signs of ware , was shocked how much the bill came to for the bits needed to build a complete diff , would have purchased the diff assembled if i could have found one as it would have been around 20 quid cheaper

what a rip off, i thought schumacher were ment to be reasonably price for part obviously note

parts are always going to cost more, thats just the way the world works, but your right you should have bought a full diff if you needed to replace everything, did you look on schuy site direct for full diff ?

Rang schumacher , they could not give a date when it will be available , as its showing out of stock, did try to find if anyone had in stock but was not lucky to get one , had to purchase the parts seperately .

It was the thrust bearing that failed steve , but the outdrives had a lot of ware had to be replaced , the diff rings, and the diff hard ware spring washers etc
expensive times

I spoke to Schumacher today about diff parts availability - they should have everything back in next week.

The original out drives were wearing out in about five to six meetings and the new ones are now lasting a lot longer fifteen plus with very little wear .regarding your diff rings, if they are just grooved don’t be to concerned just wash them and rebuild. But if they are pitted you will have to replace rings and balls, we have found when the rings are grooved but smooth it works better.

hope this helps
