Default Prototype parts

would you be interested in being able to purchase Prototype parts, made-to-order parts that broadly speaking allow quick adjustments for 'testing' or different geometry to standard parts or if you have an idea to try something have it made for you.

Could be interesting, but would probably depend on costs

cost-wise would be 'more' than off the shelf after market parts due to small volume production.

the benefits would be that you could almost spec exactly what you wanted, maybe an 'extra' hole on a hub or a shock tower as an example

or it would be a part where you can quickly change a setting, perfect for test days or club races where you want to test different things but have limited time

I'd like to see Ti tranny components... diff spurs, drive shafts and diff internals - bevel gears etc for the DEX... if enough interest then a limited run might happen

I'm liking the sound of this. Will the service offer designing of the parts or does the customer have to supply drawings? Also can alloy parts be finished afterward (anodized)?

most kinds of 'gears' would be out of the question.

I would design it, you just throw the idea at me and we could work together to optimise it.

with regard to the finish and so on... who knows, if it can be sourced then why not

that isn't the goal. the goal is to offer serious racers products to their spec that make them faster, if they want to pay extra for bling, its up to them

I'd be interested in this, particularly for TC bulkheads, so it'd proably start as 5mm sheet, some milled relief on one side for pinion clearance and motor mount screws, and threaded holes or at least blank holes top and bottom. Sound do-able if I supply CAD models?

whoa everyone, im just getting an idea on interest initially.

BagofSkill - if you have the CAD drawings then you might be best sourcing it yourself, I don't have any specific contacts yet.

I'm seriously interested. I'm playing around with a Soda Truck conversion of a XX4 at the moment but am painfully aware of the fact that they were never common and the front wishbones are virtually irreplaceable nowdays. If it were possible to make new, stronger arms I would really like some.
Such custom parts might also be of interest to others running older cars with limited spares support too.

Great idea, I do that at the moment with my car even though it isnt that good compared to the cars of today but the mods I have done have made a huge improvement.

Mine are plastic parts (same material and strength of the original) and actually work out at the same price as the originals.
