I'd better get my F109 built!

Where does that fantastic suspension leave it for F1 racing, as all its competition has a rear pod? Is it more a boutique car?

Looks cheap like the HPI to be honest a 12th hasn't changed much for years so i don't think the real F1 set would work on model cars to much going on in my eyes, Model Cars are to light and not enough weight for the suspension to work right.

The suspension looks similar to a Predator

The rear suspension of the Tamiya F201 is the nearest thing we've had to this - it was a bit taily (it was 4wd too!). Also the most beautiful RC I've seen, along with the Avante and Pred.

While the mass would be low (a 1/10th car is typically 1/1000th the mass, as scale mass/volume = 1/10x1/10x1/10), the number of Gs exerted would be more - as inertia is a function of mass and acceleration, they may balance out...? Just theorising.

PS it isn't 2-speed, just has a small spur gear with a secondary gear.

Nowhere, the rules for all F1 classes state that it must have a solid rear axle. Can't see that changing as there wasn't an extra class created when Tamiya released the F201. It also looks like you are stuck with 12mm hex drives, so your tyre and wheel options are the kit ones and the rubbers available for the HPI F10. If you want to run foams you are looking at touring car tyres or mounting your own on the kit wheels unless 3racing sell them.

No, single speed gearbox. The second gear you see on the spur gear is to transfer drive to the layshaft in the very compact gearbox.

The same could be said of the Traxxas Slash or Axial AX10. Perhaps an attempt at a new class of 'scale' F1? Its likely aimed at the Asian market, F1 is big there afaik.
