I think you need to have a think about this as it all depends on what you race on (Surface)?
If its all high grit astro/carpet then the Schumacher is the car but if its a mix all season then the YZ2 or XB2 is the car as they are very similar.
To decide between the 2 the XB2 gearbox is a major factor as its only 4 screws to take the diff out rather than taking the whole gearbox off the car then split the 2 halfs then build it all back up again.
I would choose Xray every day as the quality is far better then the rest and right now they seem to the movers in the market to reach to podium in ALL classes they race.

Just bought the xb2. Run on medium/ low grip carpet most of the time, but have run on bare sports hall floor (with gear diff) Let a lad who runs a yz2 have a go (A finalist each week at my club) he said its lovely to drive, more stable at the rear and turns in a bit better on the carpet. Can't vouch for astro yet or high grip carpet where I imagine the differences are less. But on that, u can change all the plastics to the harder compound to improve the drive.

The Schumacher will be good on the Carpet and Astro but crap on the sandy Astro.
What do you friends drive as this also matters when it comes to spares.

Smile YZ2 or XB2

To throw in my 2 cents, which ever car you choose, try and make sure it is supported at your race track or venue by your local model shop. Would be a pain having to carry loads of bits, ie more cost to you, or if you don't, the local shop doesn't support or carry the spares.

But to be honest either car will be great, but the access to the diff on the xray xb2, plus what is included in the carpet edition kit is great. Great bang for your buck.

Just my opinion

I had a yz2 which i loved , very good in high grip but could be a bit of a handfull in the damp etc ..

I ran my xb2 for the first time yesturday on a very greasy /damp track ( TORCH ) and even with the kit gear diff it was excellent , had loads of rear end grip and it was nice and easy to drive ..

And the support from rcdisco is second to none

I looked at the YZ2 - it looks nice, and very similar to the Xb2 in design (or, moreover the Xb2 is similar to the YZ2), but I vote Xray every time just because I have a XB4 so I am biased. If the Xb2 works well like the Xb4, then it will be a winner out of the box.

That said, if you have a YZ4, then it would make more sense to get a YZ2. It seems these are the two cars to get right now - Xray or Yokomo and you'll get a great car no matter which one you choose.

The Schumacher and all the other forward motor cars are only competitive on dry high-bite tracks, at least this is my experience.

I have bought my Xb2 - still in the box ready to be built and I plan to race it on sandy, damp and dry astro as well as high-bite carpet, something I cannot do with my DB2.

I'd recommend a xb2. I built mine last week and took it to a meeting with me yesterday, I decided to race the car. It was built as per the manual and running cut staggers up front with mini spikes at the rear.
I was instantly impressed with the handling of the car, it held a nice line, I could push from the off set and it jumped nice and controlled.

Sold my yz2 and bought the xb2 and found they drive quite similar but the xray seems to be slightly easier to drive. on a whole they are both superb cars. I am impressed with the amount of bits you get in the xray kit and having the diff so accessible is a bonus but both are a good choice.

Sworkz, link below of build. Cars got more options than most, comes with 12 or 14mm hexes so can choose what wheels suit you plus a few other nice things.
