Default Bury Metro News - EOS Carpet - New Venue - Booking In

Ok we have some big news for you all…..

Bury Metro has purchased 5 rolls of EOS carpet, for those of you that don’t know this carpet what is used in the biggest indoor series (Euro Off Road Series) and many other clubs throughout the UK. This will give us a 600m2 track which will be one of the biggest EOS tracks in the UK!!

So on the back of the new EOS carpet we have now decided to change venues back to Chadderton raceway for our last 2 winter rounds which will be Sunday 21st January and Sunday 11th February, at this point we need to make you aware that this changes nothing with the last two planned oOple winter rounds, these are still going ahead as normal on the normal surface we have loved over the last 7 years or so.

So a few things to note:-

Booking in below on this thread or via email to info@bmrcc.co.uk with the usual details, don’t worry there will be loads of space and the event will more than likely be capped at 100 drivers 60 2wd and 40 4wd which we will review through the coming week, if any interest we could also do a 10.5 class? Let us know!!

Shock Tower protectors will be required. We are going to try and source these before the meeting, but if you can all attempt to purchase a shock tower protector. Formby models sell them https://www.formbymodels.co.uk/rc-ca...otectors-black Answer RC sell these ones http://answer-rc.com/en/6819-hb-raci...rotectors.html This guy on Ebay has these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332401566895?ul_noapp=true or these on Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shock-Tow...8AAOSwCPdZ-O5C plenty of options with a quick google.

Tyres - For these last two meetings we will leave it as open tyre, but we would suggest that Schumacher yellow Cactus on the rears of both 2wd & 4wd and 2wd LP Cut Staggers on the front of 2wd and 4wd cut staggers on the front of 4wds and you will be very happy with grip level and tyre wear, I’ve had two meetings out of one set of rear cactus and I still think they may do another! But we will leave tyre choice open for this season, next winter season towards the back end of this year will be controlled tyre.

Setting up – We will be setting up on the Saturday before the Sunday meeting between 12pm to 3pm, many hands make light work and maybe a little practise for those who help set up.

Packing away – Usual story, we always struggle with the same old few that help pack away, we are going to need even more help now with having to pack away 5 rolls of heavy carpet, its not going to be easy but again many hands make light work, we may also do a small raffle for this that stay and help pack away.

Address - The Radclyffe Athletics Centre, Hunt Ln, Chadderton, Oldham OL9 0LS – Please park in the main car park!!

Start time will be doors open at 7:30am, please do not enter the building before this time otherwise we will be charged. Practice will be from 8:00am 4 mins practice each. Drivers briefing will be 9:15am, first heat starting at 9:30am sharp. (these times may change)

Race Fees
➢ Adult members fee will be £8 per class.
➢ Junior members Under 16 will be £5 per class
➢ Non-members Adult fee will be £12 per class.
➢ Non-members under 16 will be £10 per class.
➢ No Discount for two classes.

Racers booked in for this Sunday 21st Jan, if you aint coming please let us know so others can book in. Those that reserve and no show will be automatically on reserve list for Feb meeting. Also makes our lives easier on the busy Sunday morning not having to shout for no shows and re-hashing the heats.

Ok, think that’s all, lets get booked in and make this the best 10th winter indoor venue in the North West!!
