SX3 Servo Saver?
Hi,
As the kit didn't come with a servo saver, I've been running my SX3 without one. Today was only my third outing and I've managed to strip the gears in my savox servo and I wouldn't have said I had a big crash. Does anyone else use a servo saver? if so what do you use? and is there any reason why I shouldn't run one? Thanks |

im using the same servo, i also used it in the durango and that had some hard hitting action as my driving skills are not the best BUT the servo is still like new and ready to go again.
i would deffo use a servo saver as it does what its called, a servo saver |

This servo is not recommed as steering servo in a off-road car.. have broke a serval sets of gear on mine 1258 both in Cougar and Cat. With a 1258 is the servoarm that strips:-)

never ever ran one you loose the feel in the steering, better to use a really good servo(savox 1258 etc as mentioned) and replace the plastic arm when it goes eventually,

saver?
Years ago everyone used the savers(servo's were rubbish), now, most dont. Servos are pretty strong now.
One oif our club guys has stripped 3 sets in his low profile savox so i guess there not man enough for the off road cars! I have the savox 1258 and 1268 in my cougar, sx3 and SC, and have not stripped anything. there awsome servos. and yes had a few bad crashes. even broke the carbon part on the steering upgrade on the sx3, but servo intact. I even have an alloy servo arm. but yes the plastic servo arm is prob better as that strips before the gears do(did in my cougar at the MK). I tried a servo saver in the sx3 breifly, and as mentioned i didnt think it felt right. not wrong, just not right.
