Well tonight I completed the installation of the electrics in my rc12r5.1. I plugged the program box to the ESC but I just get "connecting fail!" displayed & the on/off button flashes green & continusly beeps. The only thing I've remembered is my 1s battery isn't fully charged, though its still near 4v.

I've triple checked all connections, that the program box lead polarity is correct etc. I can't think what else I'm doing wrong unless the ESC is at fault...

if its going beep beep beep its in setup mode waiting for you to calibrate your transmitter
if you hold the button down too long when switching on it will do this
calibrate by pushing once for neutral again for full throttle then again for full brake
after switching off.... switch on again then. by holding down button briefly

This isnt calibration mode as I've done that. I'm not holding the button down, just briefly pressing to switch on.

worked, also on mine through there mobile phones
I ordered the usb adapter in the end,i used it with the turnigy software, from HK
files tab and it works well, only £6 but from hong kong

Thanks fella.

Having just realised my ESC/box appears identical to the SkyRC Toro ESC/box, I'm taking it to my local model shop as the chap runs the SkyRC unit. Hoping he may be familier with the problem, we'll see...

Hi

I can answer this one.

Connect the esc to the program card

Download and install the trackstar software

Connect the program card to your pc using a usb cable (still connected to your esc)

It will auto update the firmware of both the card and esc, then it'll work fine.

All sorted, basically as above

The chap in my local model shop (who uses a SkyRC Toro) downloaded the TrackStar software & initially set the ESC to blinky, as required. He then realised the firmware in the card was older than in the ESC, so updated the card first, all good with card now connecting to ESC. So then installed the latest firmware to the ESC too.

So just a firmware mismatch.

Thanks for the above help chaps

Hi all, by reading some posts it looks as the Gen II is compatible with the Toro Sky RC programmer.
Could anyone please confirm?
I am having issues with the Trackstar programmer: it works fine as PC interface, but not as a standalone programmer.
Please help!
Thanks!

I can't confirm if it works with the program card.

But I can confirm it works with the SkyRC Bluetooth module so you can use your iPhone as a program card This works on an iPhone, but I know people have had troubles with Android.

The SkyRc Toro program card does not work with the Gen2 1 cell.
At least I couldnt get it to.
I had to bite the bullet and pay an over inflated price off ebay for the Trackstar one as they wern't in stock.

I found out the programmer is actually working..
The problem is in the LCD screen, looking always as if it was in full contrast.
Basically all dots look black and I can't read anything.
However, if I put it at an angle and use a direct light on it, I actually can read the screen.
No idea if this can be fixed in any way.. I feel so stupid in doing that at the racetrack!!

Question Trackstar GenII esc and program box

I have the Trackstar GenII 120A esc and the program box
updated the firmware in the box to 2.06 using the PC software and afterwards the program box would not connect to the ESC.
Later there was a newer program box update firmware to 2.07 and now everyhting works

I am looking for a iphone App and link to use with the trackstar ESC.
I had the skyrc wifi link but it would not see the esc
