Could be.. I'd imagined they had just nicked it for a quick prototype shell, nothing wrong with that. But it seems to be a new Bx shell. I dont know if they changed the roof line at all, or maybe its those big scoops, but I think it looks nicer than the bj4 shell.

HPI actualy made a prototype 4wd off rd car a good few years back. 5-6 years ago at a guess. Jamie Booth did a lot of work on it i think when he worked at Mirage.

If they are going the shaft route they onviously already have the Pro 4 stuff to base it around. If they go belts, they have the cyclone diffs and parts if tey so wish.

They would likely pick the transmission and build it themselves then take suspension from other cars. This was how they did the Pro 4 ages back. Initially it just looked like a carbon twin deck TC£ - cos that's what it was!!!!

It doesn't need that scoop in the roof though, the motor is in front of the top of the roof and the batteries are way down low...

Cosmetics..pft..

Loving all the new cars though..

Looks like the HB could be shaft drive with the two piece front gearbox, or it could be a shield, the front tower looks way flimsy and not like anything else, I reckon it's a new car altogether..

I think this will make it much clearer:

While arranging the gear box of PRO4 constitute on front and back, from before with battery constitution, holding down trend from in the motor and rear, it was impressive to become the secure making. Presently it seemed that uses those of BJ4 provisionally concerning the underside. Because both gap running the whole distance characteristic and cornering efficiency it seems that is high level, selling this way, it is appealing rank, but concerning sale concerning details still it was undecided thing.

hahaha

from the looks of it, this is more like the Associated B3X than the B4, it definately looks like just an update to the TypeR Ultima. Should be a decent car though.

I'm with you craig, I can't understand what is with all these tiny images!!!! we want detail!

From what i got told on the weekend, 2 Of the HB cars got in top 3 at worlds warm up.. But no one really got any pictures... so by the sounds HB have got a prototype!

With hpi.. i remeber a proto pro 4 offroad, but with no slipper the gear box's couldnt really take it! altho they got the cyclone now.......

I've just put a news article on the HB Europe site about the upcoming 4WD buggy: http://www.hbeurope.com/news/en/2006100301.html

It's due in the spring of 2007

Thanks for the news Frank

Is there anything else you can tell us about he buggy ? I realise its a prototype still, but are the any firm choices such as drivetrain type, cell layout etc ? ?
Will there be a UK team ? (skelding ??)

All we've seen so far are the body-on shots, so no word on the layout, etc. I think it could go either way, between shaft (Pro 4) and mimicing the current belt layouts. Not sure about a UK team but it is something we'll have to consider

Well I can't wait to see some more, its great that some of the bigger names are getting involved in 10th off road, with HB/HPi and Tamiya both now due to release buggys before the worlds next year.
Heres hoping a 2wd is on the drawing board also!

If you have any more info to share, feel free anytime

Same here The RC world needs more than 3.5 2WD kits (AE, Losi, Schu, X6 counts as a half )

2.5 kits, can't realy count the Schumacher in on this anymore, lol.

Definately would be fun, another big name in the 2wd market.

Cant wait for this car to be uncovered. I believe it will be a very good car if the touring car technology is anything to go by.

Hpi is surely one of the biggest names in RC, and putting the time and money into 10th off road is a great sign. very cool indeed.
