Default Who's had problems with glitching? Did you cure it, and if so how?

Trying to build a picture of the most common things that have caused glitching, so would be intereted in which Esc, Motor, Receiver, and Servo you had the problems with. Make and model would be good. Thanks in advanced, as this could save people the frustration of a bad day at the track.

Esc:-
Motor:-
Receiver:-
Servo:-

Aj if you mean intermittent jitter I'm having this hell at the moment to the point I was about the launch my transmitter through the wall,. I'm new to rc so I didn't know about glitching, I'm presuming you mean receiver brown outs loss of communication etc

I'm told I need a cap for the receiver.

I think the combo I'm seeing my end is

Speed passion reventon pro feeding a 7.5 speed passion

Servo is a savox 1258

Receiver is a core rc or code one. And I get it, o don't get it if I use an orion r10 pro and hpi flux motor combo

I'f I use the same reventon setup in another car but with a lower spektrum servo it's fine,

Savöx servos pull a he'll of a lot of current.
Ditching mine fixed my glitching problem.
An Rx capacitor is just masking the issue.

+1 savöx servos can be a problem, tho not all have the problem with them.

There is a glitch buster you can get, its a capacitor with a RX contact that you plug into your RX

They are easy and cheap to make yourself so thats worth a try. I can make one for you on the cheap if needed

Yeah I think the spektrum is about 6 quid or hobbyking have one for about 1 quid I'm gonna try it anyway see what happens,

Flipping annoying though, considering how much you pay for the savox units,

What radio are you using?
If a spektrum DSM then get the orange receiver from HK at the same time thats a DSM2 knock off

Thanks for your input people.

@mattr. What Receiver were you running?

Yeah, I know the feeling of wanting to launch your transmitter, which is why I started this thread.

I think in your case, the Orion r10's Bec is able to maintain the higher current need of the Savox Servo, where as the Speed Passion reventon can't and when the Bec reaches its current limit, the voltage then drops to a point where the Receiver is receiving too low a voltage to operate. This only happens for a fraction of a second, which is when you get a glitch. The idea of the Capacitor or Glitch Buster, is to support the Bec at this high current point.

I have had problems using Ace DS1015 servo's with LRP Esc, and Spektrum Receiver, and a Spektrum Capacitor helped the problem but didn't fully cure the problem. I also made a block of 6 Capacitors in Parallel to give a bigger capacity, but that still didn't fully cure the problem.

As a last resort before changing the servo, I used a different Transmitter, with a Frsky 2.4 Receiver, and no more Glitching, and my best nights racing for a long time.

So it could be that some Receivers can run at a lower voltage than others, without issue.

Have others had problems with Futaba, Sanwa, Or KO Receivers?

I was running Spektrum DSM and either using a glitch buster or ditching the savöx fixed it. I'm on DSM2 now, which hasn't exhibited the problem. Even with a savöx

I wonder if this is why the r10 cap blew once when I was messing in the street the other day, I didn't do anything special, just tested a setup ran the car for no more than 1 min sat car on the table switched it off and pop, but surely esc cap isn't linked in anyway to act as a ballast for servos is it?

U know something I may buy this ballast cap for the servo but after all these posts i may sack off these savox, ok it's fast but to be honest the 25 quid spektrum is fine it's a tad slower but prob better to be honest for my older reactions lol saves me flipping the car

Might do some swapping tomorrow. I,ll get an mt4 as well once hobbyking get some in

Seems that some are so quick to blame the savox, when in reality it seems no other brand of radio except spektrum has the problem.

seconded ; i had to dump my (early) spektrum receivers but savöx servos work flawlessly on my futaba, sanwa and Frsky Rxs

And its a damn sight easier and cheaper to swap a servo than a Rx/Tx. (Or get a DSM2 receiver)

I use Spektrum DSM2 gear along with Savox servos. Also used the Orange receivers and 70a Reventon R speedo all with no issues at all. It really could be down to individual units.

I know the Savox servos draw a high current so I would reckon a cap should solve the issue. If not, I'd agree that DSM1 could be the issue.

If its a DSM/DSM2 module yes. I *think* some of the modules are DSM only.

You'd need to double check. (I've not looked at it at all since last year sometime. Happy with what i have now!)

This is odd, the reventon BEC is rated at 3A and the Orion @ 2A
