https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...s0x0:0x0?hl=en

The link will show the area thats been 'given' to the club after a meeting with the very nice people at Crewkerne Sports Center this afternoon.

It's an astro turf pitch that has been virtually unused since it was built a few years ago..... I almost can't help finding it a little funny that after a year of searching and begging, this has turned up in the middle of town!
We will have full use of the facilities, toilets, canteen etc and can also use the enormous sport hall if the weather is bad!

I can't give a date for the first meeting at the moment, but I will be doing all I can to get something set up fairly soon.

We still don't have a timing system, so it will be back to basics for now..... If anyone out there knows of a system that is on the market, please point me in their direction

Thank's to all of you that have been there with advice and help, we are a long way off being an official venue but could not have got this far without the support of all those out there that have stuck with us!

A BIG BIG THANK YOU to all the guys at Southport RC club. You lot have been awesome and a club that I will always say is at the top of the game in off road rc. The best seasons racing and by far the best attitude towards the sport.

More details TBA as I get them!

Hi we use this system from Kamtec

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IRACE-I-ra...item2c6dfe6cbf

It works really well. You don't have to buy the whole system you can buy enough to get you started for about £300.

Our club is not far from you. Its near Ottery St Mary. We are racing on Wednesday evening. You are very welcome to come and have a look at the system.

Great news about the track

Thank, that sounds like a good idea.
What time on Wednesday will you be starting? I'm in Cornwall with work, but should be back in time to make it..... It would be good to see how the system works. Does it pick up the AMB transponders?

We're there from 7pm until 10pm.
It's not compatible with AMB.
The transponders are only £15 each though.
Our website www.trcmcc.co.uk has a map.
Hope to see you on Wed

Thanks Paul,

I'll do my best to get back in time to stop by. It's only about 45 mins or so from my place anyway, so I'm sure I will make an appearance!

Appreciate the invite!

Hi all,

We are going to be holding our first meeting on Friday the 2nd of May between 6:30pm and 9:30pm.

We should have the timing system sorted by then, but just want to make this first meeting a bit of fun, rather than a serious club event. If we can get the timing system delivered in time, we will hand out loaned transponders for anyone that wants to race and will give out permanent transponders to anyone that would like to be a member of the club and decides to take up a club membership.
We will be using the IRACE timing system until we can find an AMB system to replace it (for a decent price) So if you have an IRACE transponder, you are welcome to bring your own one along.

If anyone out there would like details of membership, please give me a shout and I will get all the details to you asap. You can always have a look on our facebook page for more info if you are serious about joining. One of the committee members on the page will get back to you with details.

Hope to see some of you there on the day!

We are testing the timing system today All looking good for the 2nd! Fingers crossed I can get to grips with it!

Anyone out there got any tips on ramps/jumps construction? We need to be able to put them up and take them down after the racing has finished....
