Default B6.1 gear diff rebuild

In the middle of gear diff rebuild and going to order new parts and spotted the aluminium diff case, is this worth a purchase or should I stick with the plastic case ?

Replacing idler gear as well as gearbox is very notchy when rotating the wheels after rebuild at certain points in the rotation of wheels, car was a second hand buy so replacing gear diff anyway but interested in everyone’s view on the aluminium diff case and would this be better than the plastic one.

Cheers all

Here's why its notchy. I believe the alloy diff height inserts and alloy gear cover helped some
