Cheers Ben, but I don't mean the start area for quali', I mean the 10 car grid for finals (ie 20m straight)

Please don't take this as being picky, as the track looks the dogs', I'm just interested in the overall layout.

edit:..

Looking a bit harder, is it the section leading left to right from the 180* banked corner?

Phil, the 'main straight' is right at the back. It is over 30m long, more than long enough

It is flat - been rolled many times, and will be rolled over the coming months. There is a white, low, concrete curb between it and the flat(ish) area I was meaning. When I say flat(ish) I mean there are elevation changes is it, not nasty bumps

The straight/track is designed to run both ways, but I think the "best" layout will be onto the straight from the (over) 12 foot high banked corner - down the straight - and round the slightly banked corner at the end of the straight.

It'll all make sense when we can get better pictures and you see it in the flesh, the pictures don't do it justice tbh.

you know this 20m rule, its a bit grey dont you think

from the 09 online rules

The straight for starting finals, will be a minimum of 20 metres long, with no obstructions, including any
form of jump, sudden rise or fall

im fine with the last bit, but where do they( the brca) start the 20m ?? end of the final turn onto the straight or from the ourside edge of the track- even if this edge isnt in use as the bends in and off the straight keep you well way from this area??

like kiddy and southport where there is that extra area fro the cars to start from , but isnt really used on a lap

Not really sure what your on about Millzy! Just make it long enough

The picture is crap and small isn't it? It's due to Photobucket being rubbish. If we ask Jimmy nice enough I think he'll put a bigger picture up for us so you guys can see more

There's a car in the picture for scale

But in all honesty, its about the same size that the old Worksop track was that used to live here before. And just because we have all the area doesn't mean we have to use it all

I love it, I have seen it mid way through the work and it was amazing then. Can't wait to race on it. If anyone needs any mid-week assistance then I am free while I am unemployed as long as I can bring my stuff and have a play.

Theres a few of us up there saturday to do some painting etc Chris..

The jumps are really good as we took AGES getting the pofiles correct, the cars leap long and high but the jumps ar actually dead easy, much more so than they look, it makes the cars look really good

The track size is actually bigger than the old worksop - its 12 feet wider to the right hand side and about 6-10 feet deeper going outwards.

The qualifying start areas cool - a neat little touch that you'll all see soon

Its mothers day this weekend and Claires mum and auntie are coming up, then I need to go and see own parents - so I won't even be building Worksop this Saturday, but we can't see them on the Sunday as we'll be racing so it ain't so bad.

I can't do weekends, but anything midweek mate there is a good chance I am available if I get enough notice, except for Tuesdays I am at JEspares.

Just a couple of pics I took at the weekend.

The damage to Coatseys X6 after a wrong landing whilst practicing and a picture of the jumps under the rostrum...with 'lil Ben Grafting and Supervisor Helliwell making sure he's doing it properly.

It really is a great looking track, and its not finished yet. I think all that race on it will enjoy it.

I said that we should put some flowers in between the track markings...what do people think?

.....target practice anyone?
