Default Reserve list for Friday 26th Jan

Hello everyone

Last Friday saw a huge effort from an increased number of people who turned up earlier and put in extra graft to get set up sooner.

This followed my plea for help to see if we could try and run an additional buggy heat in an attempt to accommodate the huge amount of demand we are currently seeing. The track was set up before 7pm and even though we held a 10 minute practice and took time out to present trophies and medals, we finished on time and locked up at 10...:30pm. A big thank you to everyone who helped out.

Following last week’s trial, subsequent lengthy committee debate and a committee vote on the proposal, we have decided to go ahead and TRIAL an additional buggy heat this week in an attempt to try and accommodate the reserve list (all be it unlikely to be able to accommodate everyone).

In order to ensure we finish on time, we will again need the support of EVERYONE to get the track set up before 7pm thus enabling the first race to start no later than 7:10pm.

IF the first race doesn’t start by then, we will have to reduce to 2 qualifying rounds and a final so we can finish on time.

No-one wants to see this happen, so it is extremely important to get the help with the track and general running of the night, including packing away. As mentioned in drivers briefings, we must be out of the school by 10:30pm.

The additional buggy heat will be scheduled to run after the first buggy heat and before the first GT12 heat so as not to disrupt the majority of existing schedule.

In order to assist the above, we will only run through a lite version of the drivers briefing. It is therefore important that any newcomers or inexperienced attendees who may not have full understanding of the racing rules and etiquette, should speak with a committee member before they race and marshal. Copies of the rules and etiquette can be found on our fantastic new website (http://ribblevalleyrccarclub.co.uk/)
for anyone who isn’t familiar with them. Please take time to familiarise yourselves with these.

This is a TRIAL only. If we don’t get the support and / or it doesn’t work within our allotted time, we will have to revert to our previous format. We cannot jeopardise the use of the school facility.

I understand this may not meet to everyone’s satisfaction and the committee do share concerns, but conversely, we are trying to be as accommodating as possible. I hope you can all appreciate that.

Thank you. Ian
