Default AGM Summary - 7th March 2018

We would like to thank everyone (members and non-members) who attended the AGM, we were extremely pleased by the level of support.

The full minutes of the AGM have been emailed to all members along with the revised Constitution in line with the amendments approved at the meeting. A summary of the main points is below:

1. Committee

The Committee voted in by the meeting is as follows with changes highlighted in CAPITALS:
Chair – Ian Martin
Treasurer – Mark Richardson
Secretary – Janice Crompton
Track Designer – Andy Ridley
Health & Safety Officer – CALLUM AKEROYD-BENCH
Webmaster – Paul Sheridan
Race Control Officer – Alysha Sheridan
Junior Rep – Andy Smith
Buggy Reps – Jon Dewhurst and MARK REDMOND
GT12 Reps – Kevin Appleby and GARY MCMULLEN

2. Race Fees

In order to ensure that the Club can continue to cover its on-going expenses and maintain sufficient funds to continue giving back to the racers in terms of medals, trophies, event privileges and Christmas gifts the following increases were agreed:

Race fees from 1st April 2018

see table below

3. Booking In

The Committee will review the booking in process in relation to non-member Juniors (i.e. allow them to book in at the same time as members) and the penalty in relation to Juniors where it is the parent who has had to cancel.

4. Race Referees

To try to deal with poor driving and racing etiquette race referees will be trialled. These will be volunteers or people will be nominated. In order to facilitate this cars will now use numbers on their cars.

5. Tyres

A suggestion was made in regard to reducing speed on the buggies and levelling the playing field by not using foams. It was suggested that for the start of the next Championship, rubber tyres would be used and foams would no longer be allowed on buggies. The Committee will review this suggestion and if agreed, decide how it could be introduced

6. Heat qualification points

Currently during a Championship 3 points are awarded to TQ for each class, 2 points for 2nd place and 1 point for 3rd place. From the next Championship only 1 point will be awarded for TQ.

7. Training

The Committee are keen to introduce Marshalling and Driver training, particularly for Juniors but Seniors as well. This will be discussed by the Committee to see the options available.

8. Speakers

Steps will be take to improve the speaker system on race night, to help everyone in the hall hear what is being said.

9. Constitution

Changes suggested in AGM notice were approved and the Constitution will be amended in line with the agreed changes.

10. Help from members

- Any ideas/improvements people might have about the website
- Any idea/improvements people might have in regard to juniors

- Anyone interested in coming onto the Committee in the future and would like to shadow to see what it entails
