Default shell protection

Hi all

Used to back my shells with nitro block but not sprayed one for 12months or so, what are you all using to weather protect your shells now?as nitro block seems off the menu now! shells painted with RCS (john miller paints) paints and fastcolour.

Halfords Clear lacquer works a treat, two light coats when the paint is fully dry

I agree completely (also "carplan" clear lacquer works) although I will just say that I have had 2 occasions where the application of a solvent based lacquer onto a water based paint (even when dry) caused the paint to "crack & wrinkle" and have a crazed type effect. To get around this I now apply the lacquer to a warmed shell (I give it a blast with a hairdryer before spraying the lacquer) and then try to dry the lacquer itself as quick as poss (also with hairdryer). Since doing this I have had no more problems
