Default Aluminum Chassis, and forward top Deck- Cougar KF

I thought I would ask this, out of sheer intrigue. When running the Aluminium Chassis, is the front top deck still required? Im intrigued as it would allow far more creative positioning of the ESC and Receiver.

Thanks for any responses.

How so? Is your esc taller than the top deck?

It fits underneath just, but it's tight, between the wires etc it makes turning on and off something for a person with a Jeremy Beadle hand!

Im mostly wondering if it is necessary once you switch to Aluminium.

I think the legs on the lower front plate, which bolt to the chassis, would become a weak point, as there would then be nothing to stop the flex.
