Default Bury Metro - New Decoder

Bury members, racers, friends

Over the last few weeks we have had some issues with our AMB decoder (The thing that counts your laps) this decoder we think is around 25+ years old, so we have made the decision to buy a new Mylaps RC4 decoder, this in itself has been a challenge as in the UK we could only purchase a v4.5 decoder which would have meant that only the Mylaps Harry & Percy PT’s would have worked.

Luckily we have sourced a Mylaps RC4 v4.4 decoder in the USA, this will work with all PT’s except the Version 1 MRT PT’s that light up with a solid blue LED when powered up.

So if you have a old AMB red square, V2 MRT PTX (flashes 3 blue lights when powered up), newer MRT PTX (flashes blue when powered up), or a Mylaps Harry or Percy then these will work with our new decoder.

So to reiterate if you have a Version 1 MRT PT that only lights up with a solid blue light when powered up then you will need a new PT to race at Bury.

We have been in contact with Terry @ MRT and they will do a trade in deal for your old MRT for the newer MRT that will work with our RC4 v4.4 decoder. The trade in deal will cost you £16.30 all in. To do this follow these steps:

1. Email Terry support@team-mrt.com to tell him you wish to trade in an old MRT for a newer MRT that will work with a Mylaps v4.4 Decoder.

2. Post your old PT to MRT with a covering letter Stating your Name, Address and contact number

Model Racing Technology
258 Dover Road
Folkestone
Kent
CT19 6NS

3. Payment to be made via PayPal once everything is ready

4. Turn around is usually a week.

Hope I have explained as clear as I can, unfortunately this is not something we could not have replaced and means our club is future proofed for many years to come.

If anyone needs help please message me back.

Thanks

Neil

Ok I'm confused with the 3 ones I have. One flashes once then is solid the other 2 just solid when Powered on. Does that mean I need 2 new ones

Mrt got back to me so sending 2 off. Want to check about the 3rd.
It's the type in the pic from birdy that says it will work. It flashes once at power on then stays on solid. Does this also need replacing?

Yes that will work, the only MRT ones that don't work are the ones that just light up straight away when powered up.
