BRCA East of England Regional - Round 2 - NORFOLK BUGGY CLUB - Bank Holiday Monday 26
BRCA East of England Regional - Round 2 - NORFOLK BUGGY CLUB - Bank Holiday Monday 26th April Venue Norfolk Buggy Club is located off of Muck Lane, Rackheath, Norfolk, NR13 6PR. Exiting Norwich on either the A1151, Wroxham Road, Muck Lane is on the right, approximately 1.5 Miles on from Sprowston Manor Hotel and Golf Club, once turned in on Muck Lane, the tack is roughly half a mile on the left, Look out for a gap in the trees. Alternatively exiting Norwich on Salhouse Road, the B1140, head straight over the mini roundabout at New Rackheath, in one mile turn left into Station Road. The track entrance is roughly a mile on the right. Look out for a gap in trees Google Map https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=nor...ed=0CAkQ_AUoBA Times To be confirmed once we know the total number of entries. I would anticipate that practice will start at 7:50 ending at 8:40, with Drivers Briefing at 8:45 and qualifying to start at 9am. We are hoping to run practice in timed slots of 5 minutes, with a maximum of ten cars on the track. This is to make sure everyone has equal opportunity at getting track time prior to qualifying starting, will allow for multiple practice runs if you wish and stop people standing on the rostrum for the full length of practice. Facilities and Track The track is primarily grass, with an astro double and table top jump. Ballistic Buggy Spikes and Schumacher Mini Spikes are the only permitted tires on the rear wheels. Any compound can be used. Any commercially available tire can be used on the front wheels There's plenty of pitting space, but unfortunately no tables or power is available on site so please bring your own generator or power supply. If you bring a generator, please be courteous of others. There is a Tesco supermarket located in Sprowston, together with ASDA and plenty of filling stations on the city's ring road. We are also hoping to run a BBQ for a couple of hours over the lunch time period. Camping Camping is available at the site. Other than a porta loo there are no other facilities at the venue. If you wish to camp please PM myself or Dave Evans (racingdwarf). Gates will open at 2pm on Sunday for anyone wishing to camp. If you would like to arrive earlier than this please use he contact details on our website to arrange a suitable time. Rules and other As per BRCA rules, all LIPO batteries being charged MUST be inside a recognized LIPO sack (or similiar), anyone found not using one will be asked to leave (you have been warned)... We will be running RC3 timing ao the latest purcy transponder will not be compatible. There is no Sunday practice. The track is now closed until Monday morning. Booking In - http://www.centralbooking.org/cbs/index.php (open till Tuesday 20 May) Club Website - www.norfolkbuggyclub.moonfruit.com Any questions can be posted here, or PM if you'd prefer. When the corners inevitably turn to dust or mud (and that's not a criticism - I love racing on grass) which 2wd buggy layout tends to go best?
I'm talking mid or rear |

I've run my TLR22 in both rear and mid format and generally find that mid was quicker over race distance. Rear motor obviously gives more drive off the corners as it get dusty but didn't seem so easy drive quickly.

With 8 heats the proposed schedule for Monday is as follows:
Booking in will open at 8:00am until 8:30am. It is your responsibility to make sure you book in, otherwise you may be removed from the meeting. Practice Four minute runs:- 7:50 to 8:45 Drivers Briefing:- 8:50 to 9:00 Qualifying Round 1:- 9:15 to 10:15 Round 2:- 10:15 to 11:15 Round 3:- 11:15 to 12:15 Round 4:- 12:15 to 13:15 Finals Leg 1 : 13.30 Leg 2 : 14:30 Leg 3 : 13:30 This should mean that racing finishes by 4:30. This assumes the following:- Assuming races can get underway in a timely fashion and everyone is efficient getting out to marshal we should be able to turn each race around in 7 1/2 minutes. This would mean each round should be able to be completed in an hour. To save the mad rush for practice we are proposing that we run practice in timed blocks of 4 minutes, with a limit to ten cars on the track at anyone time. Please queue at the bottom of the rostrum if a practice run is in progress. Once finished please leave the rostrum and collect your car. For anyone running 27mhz or 40mhz, please check with other racers that are queing that you don't clash on frequency. This should allow everyone to have at least one practice run on the track and should stop people holding places on the rostrum until they've hit the LIPO cut-off. WHEN YOU BOOK IN PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRANSPONDER NUMBER WHEN YOU CHECK THE FINALISED HEAT LIST, PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRANSPONDER NUMBER AND COLLECT YOUR NUMBER FROM RACE CONTROL:- So the referees have the best chance of seeing your number please place it on your front window.
