A variation yes. But no way as tall
Remember how many car parts broke the first year we ran in naul with jumps and a huge tabletop
Crazy
It has to be drivable for all abilities
A corner table top yes
Wall of unbelievable DEATH not in favour

Not all the jumps built for our track were supposed to be jumps. Some are supposed to slow you down
The up ramps can be changed to a curve no probs

I did not mean an exact copy of this but it gives an idea of what can be done with the space we have.Tabletop on a corner so you have to slow for it (at Micks corner onto the straight)
In the photo I wouldnt call that a wall of death ( which i wouldnt be in favour of) more a banked curve.Bottom right corner !
Possibly a similar style crossover in front of the rostrum which would equate to a more flowing style of track instead of what we have now (which is point & squirt )to suit all abilities.
We need input from everyone as i think it is possible to have a great track with the facility we have.
I would be prepared to help with the track as much as i can.

Hi Lads,

I have to agree with Ivan on that one as he well described it..."Point and Squirt".
Well said,I am only a novice but I feel the same..I think its the severity of the angel on the up ramps that is a bit difficult, maybe we could have a smoother incline into the ramps..At the same time this is no excuse for my crap driving..also great work done by the DMCC in the back ground to get this venue sorted for the club. But these are only teething problems that I am sure we will sort out soon..Anyone going to practice tonight..

Tony.

All this chat about the track is great

My comments are coming as a DMCC club member, I'm not on the committee nor do I have any say greater than any other club member.

Obviously no decisions are going to be made on Oople but its good to see what club members might want.

The DMCC committee can decide if they want a track changing team(TCT), if yes then this is what I propose:

1. The TCT get suggestions from racers who should have a design worked out. No point in saying 'I want a better jump' you need to have something on paper (ideally a picture of a jump from another track etc.)

2. The TCT team put the suggestion(s) to the racers. This could be done during a normal club race day asking for a show of hands on who would like the change(s).

3. The TCT would then and only then propose these changes to the DMCC committee who will then make the final decision. The DMCC can look into the costing of the jumps and the scheduling of the build etc.

4. The TCT team then organise the building of the jumps depending on the decision of the committee.

I think the above allows for everybody in the club to have their say and for alterations to take place but also restricts any individual from altering the track to suit themselves.

Good idea there kev... makes it democratic as a club should be. Also following those guidelines, it means that if someone doesnt like somthing, they have to go and come up with an alternative so puts an end to moaning (cos now you can do somthing about it if you really want)
Might be somthing that needs to be brought in at the AGM, not sure about that??

Though Im only going for it if its called the Track Improvement Team... and you are Chief TIT. Ill be one of the smaller TITs if you like.

Default Couple of Marshals to help on Sunday

Hi everyone, good to see racing still going well. I haven't raced since about 1992, St. Annes (RC10, Cougar & Turbo Mid Optima) but hope to bring my son down on Sunday to see the action. We offer our services as marshals and we will bring biscuits! Looking forward to meeting ye.
Ian and Sean.

We are 1/3 of the way complete on the Mad Monkey build for Sean. All the bits on order to kit it out. Daddy has just ordered a spare monkey for himself to ahem test (race) Don't tell the missus. Racing bug definitely re-activated.

We are bringing a box of old-school stuff to DMCC racing on sunday for any one interested.

1 gold pan rc10, 1 cougar mark1 and some nice touring car bodyshells.

We will pop up on Sunday for a chat and to get help with our build!

All the best

Ian

Big thanks to everybody for a great days racing today.

Many thanks to Vicky for providing hot food

It was great to see all the younger racers having a good time and not just racing their cars
