Default Need a D4 front gearbox

Broke the housing where the shock tower attached to the gearbox upper. Ordered a new one from Apex, who of course claim its in stock, but its been a week and I've not received it, so I know what that means. They haven't really got one at all!
And I'm fairly sure thats the case, because a check of the people whos stock levels actually are accurate suggest none of them have one either.

Which leaves me with a D4 I can't run on Sunday at Southport, and no idea when I can get it going again.

So does anyone know a shop that 100% certainly does have a D4 front gearbox in stock - HB61420 is the code - ideally in the north west? Or better still does some nice person who'd be racing on Sunday in the Southport regional have one?

OK Rant Time!

This is quite honestly ridiculous. It seems that no model shop in Europe that actually lists stock levels claims to have this part in stock (except Apex, who clearly don't have the part cos they haven't sent it to me).
Hotbodiesonline have it in stock, but won't sell it to me because they only service the US. They said speak to HB Europe - who don't have the part.

So unless Shanks gets back to me, my D4 is out of commission.

Meanwhile, I missed todays regional because I couldn't use my old car either, as the rear belt is slipping again. It seems old cats don't like modern brushless motors. But I've ordered a new belt and pulley from Schumacher on Saturday, and it will likely be here on Monday.

So I can repair the obsolete, 10 year old car in a matter of days, but parts for a modern car from a major company don't exist! How does that make sense?

I really like my D4, but if this is what life with it is going to be like I might well need to swap to something else.

A bit of a old thread , but I just rebuilt a old d4

Same prob, front shock mount on gear box was broken

I found a caster sk10b top gear box fitted after a minor trim

Hope This helps anyone

And at 4.99 a bargain!
