Are you the fella me and my bro helped out regarding the motor in your b4? to be honest, I know a lot of people may argue with this but... although brushless is fairly expensive, I would go for that as it means you will NEVER have the problem you had again because they have no brushes, and the brushless motors are maintenance free which is great for a beginner! HTH, PM me if you want any help etc.

Default I agree

Maintenance free brushless motors do seem to be the way forward considering whats involved in skimming and brushing brushed motors, NB make sure your ESC will run brushless or build it into the budget, and the Spectrum option while not essential is desirable, no crystal changing, short stubby 4" aerial that is unlikley to get broken, no chance of interferance, and the features on the LCD versions are very nice and easy to use, no chance of knocking trim buttons etc its all digital and it only needs 4 batterys.

PS And a big thanks for making me feel welcome on Sunday, was my first attempt at racing and enjoyed my self immensly, just glad I brought warm coats and the silly rain deer hat )

PPS someones mum selling hot coffee was a god send, thanks )
