I have my esc connecting directly to my lipo just like everyone else. Is there a downside to this? Someone just mentioned that I wont be able to race back to back because of it. Does it produce more heat this way?

Hi Johm and Jedi.
I tried the PT under the centre drive shaft in front of the spur, it fitted great there room-wise but owing to the close proximity to the receiver it didnt work as it caused interference. Hence my question.
Like you both have now mounted it vertically by the cells but I'm told on good authority (AMB) that mounting in this way (ie vertical rather than flat) can seriously reduce the PT signal and may miss you some laps which somewhat defeats the objective.

Hello Charlie, I have my PT directly on top of the receiver and it worked with no problem at Southport the other week?

I will post a pic up to show you.

Hi Damo.
That is so neat and I would say so lucky not to cause interference. My set up was an AMB PT alongside the receiver and apparently it went ape-sh** in practice at Worksop on Sunday.

I had to move my PT away from my 40 Meg KO 302F in TC as there was interference issues. Laps missed and steering glitches.

Not saying that anyone is wrong, just thought that its worth mentioning.

KO 302 (and i think other older KO's, can't remember) go ape sh!t if you have AMB Pt's close to them (charlie - could have told you that). I found this in my Pred years ago, and also by accident in the Cat last year as well.

my latest electrical setup

full size servo, sxx tc, amb px, spektrum rx - finally happy with the layout

and an "addition" to the chassis to handle the australian summer - well to help the motor handle the hot weather

Ben,

You not worried about the dirt filling your motor up with that cut out?
