i used the tamiya servo saver but you need to put a 2.5mm spacer under the 4 screws that holds the plate on above the servo

I've used both the Answer RC and the Losi alloy horns with success on Cougar SVs.

Default Alloy horn with a savox in my SV

I have tried the answerRC horn with my savox servo but it is a bit too big - pushes into the steering assembly. Anyone got any thoughts what would be a better fit?

Strange, I use the answer rc on a savox 1258 and it fits and works perfectly. Is your servo mounted direct i.e. no spacers?

i`ve fitted a tamiya 51000 hi torque servo saver with the 54120 alloy horn to mine as i was getting somewhat annoyed with it destroying servo`s.
i set the servo back into the lower bulkhead uprights to give clearance for the servo saver and had to trim some material from under the top bulkhead, then put a slight bend in the alloy horn.

Schumacher say the Cougar is a competition car, and there for does not need a servo saver.

So what they are saying is, if you have a cougar, you are driving in competition and you are a good enough driver never to crash, so you don't need a servo saver !

That's a very odd point of view. I've seen plenty of competition drivers at top level crash.

This servo saver question keeps coming up, why the hell don't Schumacher just make one ? It can't be that hard !

+1 for the answer RC alloy horn (mine fits perfectly with savox 1258). As far as a servo saver goes I'm a beginner to racing crash plenty and have yet to break my servo (hoping thats not famous last words ) The steering hubs do seem to go though so that could be whats keeping the servo safe?
